Sandston, Virginia

Sandston, VA is an unincorporated community in Henrico County located directly south of Highland Springs and less than ten miles from the heart of downtown Richmond via I-64. Beautiful Sandston homes are in a location extremely convenient for frequent travelers. Sandston home owners have the luxury of living in houses just minutes away from Richmond International Airport via a short drive on Williamsburg Rd.
Sandston real estate is a delightful combination of new houses and historic real estate properties that date back to the colonial era. Sandston houses a large percentage of families with children, and is in fact over two thirds families. This fact is reflected in the presence of good local schools including Seven Pines Elementary, Sandston Elementary, and Donahoe Elementary.
Homeowners living on Sandston real estate have the beauty of Central Virginia's natural landscape which drew eighteenth century settlers to the area, including the Boarshead wetlands. Sandston houses are also just minutes away from the Highland Springs Golf Course, as well as the Woodstock Hill Country Club, Eastbourne Lake, and beautiful Matthew James Robinson Park with all of its recreational options.
Quality dining is a given to Sandston home owners, with Downtown Richmond and Shockoe Slip just minutes away. But home owners in Sandston also have great food right at their doorstep, as Sandston houses a strip of good restaurants lined all along Williamsburg Rd. Among local Sandston restaurants is the family-owned favorite Roma Ristorante, which offers excellent and unique Sicilian and Italian cuisine. In addition to the city conveniences provided by neighboring Richmond, Sandston home owners enjoy lower median real estate property taxes than the state average, a cost of living that is 10% less than the national average, and 15% less than the state average. Clearly, Sandston is an excellent place to invest in real estate or purchase a home.
