In 1970, the city had a population of less than 3,000 individuals, which has increased to more than 90,000 individuals today. The headquarters of Dell Inc. s corporate offices are located in Round Rock, Texas. Other major employers in the area include Cypress Semiconductor and Farmers Insurance Group. The city of Round Rock is slated to be the economic driving force for the central Texas area and is growing at a rate of 7% per year. Another venture that is sure to bring more employment of the area is the building of a new hospital in the northern area of the city.
