McLean, VA is an unincorporated community in Arlington County, Virginia located twelve miles northwest and across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C. and fifteen miles northwest of Alexandria. McLean is located just twenty minutes northwest of Ronald Reagan National Airport, and twenty minutes due east of Washington Dulles International Airport, a major international airport and commercial hub.

McLean was named for John McLean, former editor of the Washington Post.
