Many people relocating to Colorado imagine the whole state as being in
the Rocky Mountains. To their suprise, Boulder and the surrounding
communities to the East of Boulder only look at the mountains from
relatively flat land. Mountain life is still very much an option,
(and a wonderful way of life) but only about 5% of homes in the
Boulder County area are actually in the mountains. Most of those
areas are between 15 minutes and a half-hour from Boulder.
