General Information

Individuals that purchase Dallas, Texas real estate are purchasing property in the third largest city of a state filled with enormous cities. The city covers more than 385 square miles and has a population of more than a million individuals. Founded in 1841,
the city has continually grown since its inception, incorporating numerous smaller towns into its borders and spawning numerous suburbs around its area. As the city grew, it eventually merged with two other large cities in the area, Fort Worth and Arlington, combining to make one of the largest metropolitan areas in the country. In fact, nearly a quarter of the entire population lives in the Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington metropolitan area.
The city is served by the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport which has hundreds of arrivals and departures daily. The Dallas city skyline is considered one of the most attractive in the nation, made all the more dramatic by the absence of any large natural structures in the area. The climate of the city is dry and hot for much of the year, with cooler temperatures and small amounts of precipitation arriving in the winter.

Economy

There are numerous businesses that have chosen to purchase Dallas, Texas real estate for their corporate headquarters or regional office. The Bank of America building located in downtown Dallas stands nearly 1,000 feet high while the Comerica Bank Tower
stands nearly 800 feet. There are a number of multinational corporations located within the city limits, adding thousands of jobs to the local economy. Some of these corporations include Brinker International, Texas Instruments, and ExxonMobile. Dallas is also part of the telecommunications corridor of Texas, home to more than 5,700 business somehow affiliated with the telecommunications industry. There are many employment opportunities within the city to choose from and individuals that cannot find the right type of employment for them may choose to commute to the neighboring suburbs to their place of business.

Lifestyle

There are numerous neighborhoods scattered throughout the city of Dallas, each with its own distinct style and culture. Many of the neighborhoods provide specialized festivals, parades, and celebrations for their residents and many individuals choose to attend these smaller celebrations instead of the larger ones provided by the city. There are numerous entertainment venues featuring nationally renowned acts on a nightly basis in various areas of the city and many professional sports teams play there as well. Residents have their choice of many different fine dining and casual dining restaurants featuring foods from every corner of the world. Dallas is also the home of a Six Flags amusement park, called Six Flags Over Texas, and a nearby waterpark called Hurricane Harbor.
Recreational activities in the city are almost too numerous to count. There are more than 400 public parks in various locations throughout the city, providing residents with playgrounds for the children, picnic areas, and trails for walking, running, hiking, and biking. Many of these public parks also have sports areas such as basketball courts, baseball diamonds, tennis courts, soccer fields, and football fields. Because of the mild climate of the city, outdoor activities can be enjoyed year round, so these parks get plenty of use throughout the year.
