located near the northwest corner of the city. It is considered the 7th most populous city in Colorado and was ranked the 24th in the "Best Places to
Live in the United States" list by CNN Money Magazine in 2006. The city has a population of about 105,000
people.
Westminster is a short 30 minute drive away from the Denver International Airport and is positioned
between Denver, CO and
Boulder, CO

History of WestminsterWhen gold was discovered in 1858 on Little Dry Creek, people started flocking to the area that is now known as Westminster, CO. The Land Act of 1862 caused many settlers to make their home in Colorado instead of moving farther west to California.
Over time, the number of settlers in the area of Westminster continued to grow, becoming incorporated and
taking Westminster as its official name in 1911. Today, Westminster is the home of a well educated
workforce, award winning community and recreation centers, excellent public schools, and four colleges
and universities.
