Foxfield, Colorado

Foxfield is a new and small town in Colorado that has a population of around 900 people. The town lies in close proximity to Denver as it is located in the southern portion of the Denver Metropolitan Area. Foxfield sits in Arapahoe County and provides wonderful views of the Rocky Mountains, giving the community a rural country atmosphere.

Growth and development has been closing in on the surrounding areas for years now, and is exactly the main reason as to why it was incorporated back in 1994. The people of Foxfield had the town incorporated so as to preserve the rural community feel of their town, and also to prevent any annexation attempts from neighboring towns and cities.

The town sits just seven miles south of Aurora, Colorado and twenty - one miles southeast of Denver. Getting to Foxfield from other states or countries can easily be done through six airports in and near the Denver area. The most popular airport of which is the Denver International Airport, which is a major airport.

Employment opportunities are plenty for residents of Foxfield, and this is mostly due to the boom of nearby cities. Around 85% of Foxfield's community commute outside town for work to Denver or to various parts of Arapahoe county. Among the top employers of the county include Rayethon, Blockbuster and Centura Health.

Foxfield has numerous parks and has plenty of scenic views. There are also plenty of restaurant choices as well as shopping choices at its commercial district, the Barn Store. The Barn Store is a small strip mall with shops, cafes and restaurants. The town makes a little income from the strip mall by approving sales tax on all sales from the mall shops.

The estimated median household income two years back was $119,245 and is twice bigger than the median household income in the state of Colorado. The estimated per capita income of the town is $47,763. Most people living in Foxfield earn better than other people throughout the state. The cost of living in Foxfield is also lower than the country average by around 2%. True to its mission to keep the town's rustic community feel, the town requires that home sites be at least 2 acres in order to maintain that small town country feel that Foxfield is known for.

While the income rates and cost of living are looking good, homes in Foxfield are interestingly more expensive than usual. The real estate market in town includes detached homes, lots, luxury condominiums and townhouses. The estimate median home value in town is $543,968, and has increased by almost $200,000 since the year 2000. The estimated median home value throughout the whole state of Colorado is less than half of the median value for the town, which means that homes in Foxfield are more expensive. Homes listed for sale start from as low as $290,000 and can be expensive as $1,200,000.

There are only more or less 252 homes in Foxfield, and only a small part of that is for sale. This means that the average home price and the median home price can greatly fluctuate depending on the homes listed in the market.
