History of Castle Rock

Early settlers of the area that is now known as Castle Rock arrived in Colorado in the early 1860s, with dreams of successful gold prospecting. The town itself was formed in 1874 when Jeremiah Gold, one of the first settlers to make the area his home, donated 120 acres of land for the town to be formed.
