Jamestown was one of those stalwart little towns that had its beginnings as a mining camp. It's located about a half an hour away from Boulder, less than 18 miles to the north and east. Denver is only an hour away.

There's just one main restaurant right in the town and that's where people meet to discuss their philosophies and interests.

What else can you do here? Hiking and fishing are popular. Beautiful Brainard Lake offers rainbow, cutthroat, and brook trout, less than an hour away. It's just a short jaunt to hiking trails like Pawnee Pass that will take you as high as 10,000 feet. If it's nightlife you want, just drive over to Boulder, easily accessible, full of bright lights and city conveniences.

If you have younger kids, they'll attend school right in Jamestown, at the K-5 school located on Mesa Street. It's an open enrollment system that brings in neighboring children and provides extra social opportunities for youngsters. Older children attend one of the Boulder schools, usually Centennial Middle School and Boulder High School. Opportunities abound for talented and gifted children. There is a pre-engineering curriculum, and experiential learning embeds core values in your children.
