Castle Pines, Colorado

Castle Pines, Colorado is located in Douglas County, about 30 minutes south of Denver. It is nestled in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains and surrounded by rolling hills and fields of wildflowers. The population of Castle Pines is under 7,000. Castle Pines is considered a subdivision of Castle Rock, Colorado, but is such a large subdivision, over 10 square miles, that many think of it as a separate town unto itself.

Life in Castle Pines

Castle Pines is a master planned community, broken into two distinct areas. The area to the north is aptly named Castle Pines North. To the south is Castle Pines Village, a gated golf community. Castle Pines Village is entirely enclosed with 24 hour security monitoring and at least two patrolling security guards patrolling at all hours. The streets of Castle Pines are lined with pine trees, a rarity in when it seems so many communities apparently place very little importance on keeping and maintaining foliage. The Douglas County school system that services Castle Pines is an award winning district, considered one of the best school districts in the country.
Castle Pines offers its residents world class recreational facilities, sporting and activity centers, and parks. There are many nature trails, equestrian trails, and bike trails throughout the area. Natural lovers may enjoy wildlife exploration and the area is a natural setting for rock climbing. Castle Pines also contains premiere golfing venues, such as the Castle Pines Golf Club which hosted the annual PGA Tour's "The International" until 2006. Because of the city's close proximity to Denver, many residents choose to drive to the city for world class entertainment and upscale dining. This way, they can enjoy the best of both worlds.

Castle Pines real estate on average is double to triple the price of real estate in nearby Castle Rock. This reflects location, of course, including views and infrastructure amenities, as well as high-end construction features. One can usually expect to find 200 to 300 Castle Pines homes on the market at any given time, accounting for nearly 25% of available Castle Rock real estate.
