The Prairie Dog: Real Estate’s Cutest Pest

For those of you out there who may not be a fan of these furry critters, why not hear what the humane society has to say.
“Prairie dogs are an essential part of our prairies-among the most endangered ecosystems in the world.” (HumaneSociety.org)
These little guys are in danger of being wiped out by developers and ranchers throughout the state, often being inhumanely poisoned or shot. There are even dedicated shooting zones right here in Colorado. Lucky for these little guys, there are relocation groups throughout the state and the humane society is working to protect them. If you’d like to help, check out the Prairie Dog Coalition here: https://secure.humanesociety.org/site/Donation2?df_id=5920&5920.donation=form1&s_src=webdn_pdc_subnav
There are humane ways of relocating these creatures. If they need to be removed from your space or any other, the method needs to be approved by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). If you need help with the removal of prairie dogs, or want to suggest a humane option for others, head here: firstname.lastname@example.org
Maybe you love prairie dogs more than the average passerby? Do you like the cute little sounds they make, the way they play with those little paws of theirs? I have the solution for you. Why not check out www.jandaexotics.com and get your very own pet prairie dog? As this company puts it, “of all the exotic animals currently kept as pets worldwide, the prairie dog is one of the ultimate companions. Their happiness knows no bounds.” Maybe there are more prairie dog lovers out there than I thought!
So love them or hate them, let’s give these furry fellows some respect and deal with them in a humane way.
