The urge to get off America’s congested coasts is something a lot Coloradoans will confess was a driving force that brought them out west. With huge populations of people coming from places like New York, New Jersey, California and Texas, as well as from around the world, it seems like everyone in Colorado is from someplace else. There must be something about living in anyof Colorado's suburban or metropolitan cities that provide you with the opportunity be in the great Rocky Mountains within 20 minutes or so that we just can't resist. Or, maybe it is the business opportunities, higher education options, the call of the wild or the urge to shred the slopes.  Whatever the reason, if the call of Colorado is too much to bear any longer, now is the perfect

For those of you out there who may not be a fan of these furry critters, why not hear what the humane society has to say.

“Prairie dogs are an essential part of our prairies-among the most endangered ecosystems in the world.” (HumaneSociety.org)

These little guys are in danger of being wiped out by developers and ranchers throughout the state, often being inhumanely poisoned or shot. There are even dedicated shooting zones right here in Colorado. Lucky for these little guys, there are relocation groups throughout the state and the humane society is working to protect them.
