Over the last few years, the 1stBank Center has transformed from the small local event center it once was, to one of the Front Range’s best venues. As a resident of the Broomfield area, I have seen the progression of the event center and love what they have done. Having personally attended many different events at the 1stBank Center, I got to tell you there isn’t a bad seat in the house!
The 1stBank Center is a $45 million venue which is operated by Peak Entertainment LLC, a partnership of Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG) and Kroenke Sports Enterprises (KSE). Both run several major sports and entertainment facilities in the Denver area as well as nationally. Having changed owners hands a few times since it was first built, the former Broomfield Event Center has transformed into a top rate concert hall and venues. This multi-use arena is capable of holding up to 6,500 spectators and regularly sells out for popular events. Considered a medium sized venue, the 1stBank Center is the perfect size for close up views of performances.
Mainly intended for musical performances, the 1stBank Center is also home to many sporting events like Roller Derby, lacrosse, MMA fights, minor league hockey, and basketball. It opened on March 5, 2010 with a performance from Furthur, which includes the Grateful Dead’s Phil Lesh and Bob Weir. Several other huge national acts like Paul Simon, Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers, Roger Daltrey and Phish have performed there recently.
One of the best things about the 1stBank Center is parking is never a problem. Yes you wait in line when you are trying to leave, but it is nothing like being downtown somewhere. There is also easy access to the main RTD station directly across the people bridge. Overall, the 1stBank Center in Broomfield, Colorado is a great venue for just about any kind of event. If you have a chance to see a concert here or attend one of their sporting events, we highly recommend going, you will not be disappointed!
